Gary initially began his education as a collegiate scholarship athlete in Track & Field, graduating from Western Oregon University 1998. He participated in the Decathlon as his specialty in Track. Later, he received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MSPT) in 2001 followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy 2002 from Pacific University. Gary and his wife, Carmen, were the first married couple to be accepted together in the professional PT program at Pacific University. Both are native Oregonians, with Mill City as their home town.
Gary has maintained a strong commitment to developing his clinical skills with internationally recognized credentials. The Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) comes from the Ola Grimbsy Institute recognized as the only organization to offer PhD in clinical physical therapy. The certified Mulligan Therapist (CMP) represents clinical treatment techniques for positional faults of joint complexes. Other program’s include full course sequence for McKenzie Method (MDT) with the McKenzie Institute of America.
In addition, Gary is a certified clinical instructor who accepts graduate students from several P.T. programs. He also participates in local school health care symposiums and mentoring local youth seeking out all education and entrepreneurial pursuits.
He enjoys many hobbies and has certification in welding pursuing his passion in restoring classic cars and participating in amateur endurance racing with the Lucky Dog Racing League. Most importantly, he enjoys taking vacations with his family and learning about the history of our area.
